2024 Annual Holiday Party

Our last event of the year is always a hang-out without a speaker or a topic. This year we’re exploiting a loophole to this rule… it’s movie time!

NOTE: Watching the movie is not required. Read on!

We’re renting a movie screen at the Grandview Theater, and that means we got to collectively pick a movie! We used instant-runoff ranked choice voting (admittedly, with minimal no voter eligibility controls whatsoever in place) to choose the movie. The candidates were: Dr. Strangelove (1964), War Games (1983), A Christmas Story (1983), Field of Dreams (1989), Sneakers (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), The Truman Show (1998), A Beautiful Mind (2001), Moneyball (2011), Imitation Game (2014), and Her (2014).
