We’ve probably all heard of DevOps, that lovable combination of “development” and “operations” that is the modern way to manage servers. But what about “DataOps”? As the tech industry loves a good portmanteau almost as much as acronyms, we now have the emerging field of DataOps — which brings in some of the same agile processes and cross-disciplinary methods that made DevOps so revolutionary into the data world.

In April, we will welcome (and welcome back) Jeewan Singh and Tomy Rhymond from Slalom Columbus to help us make sense of these changes and how they might impact us.

As an organization’s analytics program matures, a key ingredient for creating predictable delivery is to establish processes and governance around the data program. Today, data teams are increasingly utilizing multiple SAAS and cloud-based solutions for delivering analytics solutions and the orchestration of process flows across disparate platforms is critical to success. DataOps exists in the same domain as DevOps, however, this flavor of the model focuses on building collaboration and automation in the data management practice. Jeewan and Tomy Rhymond will give an overview of DataOps and how organizations are building stable and predictable processes around data flow, models, and analytics delivery.
